I have been concentrating most of my creative energies on writing fiction these days. I belong to a fantastic online writing group, and some of us participated in National Novel Writing Month (otherwise known as NaNoWriMo) again in November. The point of NaNoWriMo is to write 50,000 in one month, roughly the length of a short novel. Consequently, the focus is heavily on numbers of words written each day, rather than quality of said words. Which is both liberating and somewhat stressful. In our chit-chat during the month, one of us said that she was going to count herself successful if she got out ten words a day. Well, that became our mantra for the month. Then it became an assignment in our group. Then...it became my new blog: Ten Words: Stories. I write one ten word story a day, every week day. At some point I may go back and write further on some of them, but right now, I'm having a lot of fun coming up with something every day. I'd love to have you take a look, and leave me a comment. Let me know what you think! (And feel free to use them as writing prompts yourself, if you are so inclined. Just give me credit.)
