Chef Daniel Angerer decided to try something new recently. He calls it Mommy's Milk Cheese. It's made from...um...his wife's breast milk. I guess you can't get more local than that. And since his wife is an eco-conscious vegetarian, I'm thinking it could be called organic, too. I'm also thinking I'll pass, thanks. But if you're so inclined, he gives the recipe on his blog (where he states that he did not, as has been reported in the media, create, make or serve this cheese at his restaurant, Klee Brasserie). He talks there, as well, about the ethical considerations of using milk meant for his baby. It's an interesting read.
He definitely gets kudos for creativity.
I learned about this on Care2's site, by the way, which is a great source for healthy, green, planet-conscious news (again, if you're so inclined).
