It's Fall! Woohoo! My favorite time of year. And this change of season has brought a lot of other changes with it. Consider this a Why I Haven't Written Much Lately list.
- The Powers That Be in my office decided that my workspace needed to be somewhere else, so I got the fun of moving offices. It's amazing how stressful even such a small move can be. I found myself getting upset about little things, even throwing tantrums in my head. And then I noticed something interesting. I continued to ewell - lots of greens and other veggies, lots of fruit, lots of whole grains, lots of lean, clean protein - and so I didn't get the stressed-out sugar cravings to which I am extremely prone. And when the tantrums showed up, I was able to take a step back and remind myself that everything that happens to me can be a learning experience. And so I made a decision to learn from whatever had wigged me out in the first place. Am I growing up or what? Plus, it's really cleansing to throw out a bunch of stuff. And since the change of season is a great time to cleanse, I'm going to try it at home, too.

My husband went back to school. (I'm jealous.) This hasn't been such a big change for me, except that now there's more quiet time in our home, when he's studying and the television is off. I'm liking that.

And introducing...
Curry! Er, Quinoa! Er, Curry Quinoa! Well, we're not sure what her name is yet. What do you think? She's a 9-year-old Lhasa Apso that we adopted from a shelter so that our 7-year-old pug has a playmate. (I'll have better pictures soon - that's the one from the shelter.) So far, they're getting along great - they ignore each other and focus on us. There are exploratory sniffs every now and then, and they'll lie down next to each other, so it's a good start. But this has definitely been the biggest change. And the best. Allowing a new being to adjust to our home has its challenges, but we couldn't have asked for a more mellow, sweet or patient dog. So welcome, er, You!
So yeah, change is good. And life is change. So that must mean that life is good, too.
